Guidoso Privacy Policy
Draft placeholder. Version 2026-07-04-draft. This is not final and will be replaced with a legal-reviewed policy before launch.
1. Who this covers
This policy describes how Guidoso handles information for hosts (people who build guides), collaborators a host invites, and guests who view a published guide. Guests do not need an account.
2. Information we collect
From hosts and collaborators
- Account identity: name and email, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Property information you enter: property name, address, location, listing details, photos, and the recommendations and notes you write.
- Contacts you add for a property (for example a property manager, cleaner, or emergency contact).
- Product usage needed to run features and enforce fair-use limits.
From guests
- Anonymous guide-engagement signals, measured with a rotating per-visit token. This is never a name, email, IP address, or device fingerprint.
- Any feedback you choose to send a host, including a message and the optional name, email, or phone you add.
3. How we use information
To provide and operate the guide platform, generate and refresh content, keep the service secure, respond to feedback and support, and improve the product. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for cross-site advertising.
4. Cookies
We use necessary cookies for sign-in, session, and security, and optional analytics cookies only with your consent. See our cookie and trust page to review or change your choice.
5. Service providers (sub-processors)
We share information with providers that help us run Guidoso, only as needed to deliver the service:
- Clerk (authentication and accounts)
- Anthropic (AI features that draft and generate content)
- Google Maps Platform and Geoapify (address validation, mapping, and place data)
- Mapillary (street-level place photos)
- Cloudflare (media storage and bot protection)
- Resend (transactional email)
- Weather providers (local weather and tides)
- Sentry (error monitoring)
- Railway (hosting and database)
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and security obligations. Specific retention periods are being finalized.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your information. Contact us to make a request. The self-serve export and deletion flow is in progress.
8. Children
Guidoso is not directed to children, and guests are not asked to create accounts.
9. International
Guidoso is operated from, and uses providers in, the United States.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new version.
